Gary “Shady GaGa” Stewart sat down with our U.K Reporter, Emma.

So the Saturday Evening Sessions has a brand new DJ, who you may know as ShadyGaga, or just Gary. The 27 year old music fanatic from the United Kingdom gives us the lowdown on how he got this coveted gig. “Well my friend Nick and I were bonding over our love of music and he was telling me about how he needed a break from the Sessions while he settled back down in Melbourne. He was reluctant to close it down for any length of time so I volunteered my services! I am delighted and honoured to be a part of such a well-established music blog, and I’m so looking forward to learning new things and broadening my horizons.”

So the enthusiasm certainly seems to be there, let’s hope he can match it up with some excellent Sessions. Meanwhile, let’s find out more about this elusive British chap. What do you do in your spare time, Gary? “I love reading all kinds of book, and writing too, especially poetry. Also, obviously, I adore music! Listening to it, going to concerts/festivals, even singing (albeit badly) I enjoy social networking, entertaining friends and just generally having fun.”

Right-i-o then. Ever done anything like the Saturday Sessions before then? “That’ll be a resounding no! I’m hoping people will be patient with me, because it’s a whole new learning curve for me! I want it to be fun, but I will have to take it very seriously in order for it to be as successful as when Nick hosts it. I am kinda nervous.”

So what do you have in store for the Sessions then? “Well I don’t want to give too much away, that’ll spoil the excitement and anticipation! But my first session, Saturday 13^th February, has an Anti-Valentine’s Day theme to it! And in to coming weeks expect to see lists on Divas and Musical Legends Through the Decades and Music Week!”

So, sounds like Gary has things under control. Will it be a success? There really is only one way to find out, by staying tuned every week! But we wish him well.

Nicholas // SatEveSessions Presenter/Founder Biog

Nicholas “DaddySoul” Paige is the Founder and main presenter to the growing music network, SatEveSessions.

SatEveSessions, which originally was founded September 2009 and lists streamed through Nicholas’ boyaroundtown blog was officially granted a home to its own site in December 2009 (now: http://satevesessions.tumblr.com)

“I created the sessions to help expose the rest of the world to music and different genre’s that exist. As I get older, I get exposed to many different types of music - and each time it happens, I just want to share it with the world. There is SO much great talent out there. Music is an amazing gift, which when someone hears something they really like - they cant but help listen to more. I would say, I am a full Music Junkie *laughs*”

The new and growing online music site, got it’s name for the purpose of each Saturday night from 7pm (Sydney, Australia time) a new list of 22 great tunes would be uploaded, linking through Twitter, Tumblr and allowing facebook users to be exposed to something different each week.

So far SatEveSessions has published many lists including:

* Top 22 Australian Singles charts (Sat Dec 12, 2009)

* Dirty, Sexy & Sweaty (Special Crew member presentation from Andy/ Perth, Western Australia)

*2009 (NYE Special) 2009 Top 50 Tunes

+ The lists simply go on!

“By no means do we promote music piracy. We encourage any Sessions viewers/crew to buy any tunes they like the sound of from a legit digital music store such as the Itunes iStore or Amazon music. Each of these video’s are linked through youtube, which from our knowledge - you can’t officially download the video. Just watch, or as I see it - Be exposed to music, aqquire a taste - get hungry then do right and pay for what you want. I don’t understand why people download illegally when you can get the real thing, for as cheap as $1 and it supports the artists who make this amazing music.” Nicholas mentions.

While the Sessions has mainly been streaming lists of a commercial nature, 2010 will be a turn to a new direction.

“Well first off, I’ve just been granted 6 weeks off my Music Editor duties, which comes at a great time, as I am in the process of moving back from Sydney to my home town of Melbourne, Victoria. In the time I have off - we have entrusted the Sessions to Brittish Gent, Gary “Shady GaGa” Stewart who strikes me as a Music Junkie in waiting. I can honestly say, being apart of the Sessions changes the way you see music. It will be amusing to see how much he grows and changes in the 6 weeks im away.”

Then the sessions really changes. When Nicholas comes back on board on March 27, 2010 - The Sessions will focus on promoting artists, bands, DJ’s and performers trying to make a name for themselves. 

“Our initial goal is to get interviews, record artists at gigs and share what we do with the world. We are DEFINATLEY Welcoming everyone who is into the music scene to contact us. Whether it’s to be a fellow Sessions presenter, reporter or if you are an artist.”

“Well, Crew! I’ve my bags packed, my plane ticket in my hands (ready to be passed to the airport staff) - and everything finalised and ready to shut up shop in Sydney… Although I am only on leave for 6! weeks, To think when I return I will be charging the Sessions through a new style in music delivery, Oh yes! There will be changes - And we would LOVE for you to be apart of it… While I prepare to hand over the Musical Baton to our United Kindom correspondant (DJ Shady GaGa//aka Gary) I will in my quiet moments in the next few weeks publish how YOU can become apart of the Sessions Team.
